Eventually, it appears I was doing it all right, and my Gephi was somehow buggy.
Fully 'reinstalling' it (DL a brand new executable, and installing all my dear packages from scratch) made it work.
I have no clue of what was wrong, but I'm glad it works fine now. BTW, timeline is a great tool !

Sorry for bothering you all,

Vongo

I've been using Gephi 0.8.2 on Linux (Mint 16) for a few weeks now, and I think this is a great product.
Today I tried to use time features, and followed a few tutorials to make sure I do things right.

So I properly created a time interval column in the data lab by merging columns, it appears to be quite ok, the column cells are partially teal.
In some tutorial I have seen a "Enable timeline" button in the bottom of the Data Lab page, there is no such thing in mine.
Then I tried to use filters : I pick Dynamic -> Time Interval.
This opens a tiny menu (Dynamic range configuration) in the bottom of the right panel, with a few options :
  • Open timeline (does nothing)
  • Keep empty values (changes a parameter in the filter)
  • Select (selects the whole graph)
  • Filter (does nothing)
I have no such thing as a dynamic frame / timeline player in the bottom of the window.
I tried to enable it with the window -> timeline option, with no success.

What do I do wrong ? How can I use the time utils ?

Thank you for your help ;)
