Hi all
I'm wondering if a layout algorithm exists that allows me to specify something like the area to which the graph is confined. Stated another way, perhaps it would allow me to specify a radius from the central node that nothing can go outside of.
Does something like this exist?

Re: Beginner Question Re: Adding columns
Yeah that's what's getting me so bothered about this. I am certain that I'm doing this without that box checked but as you said, it is behaving as if the box is checked.

Re: Beginner Question Re: Adding columns
Thanks for your cotinued help Eduardo My csv is in the exact same format as yours, so I don't think that that's the problem. I'm worried that it may have something to do with how the network was imported in the first place. Could this be? Here's what the data lab looks like before I attempt to add t...

Re: Beginner Question Re: Adding columns
I went on to find a work-around for this problem, but now I am on another project and need to get this working Eduardo, I appreciate your help but that did not work. I currently have the following in the data lab: Nodes,Id,Label, region 102925,1,102925,xxxx etc.... when I import a csv file that is fo...

Re: Best Layout Algorithm for Massive Newtork
Thanks for the suggestion. Just thought I should follow up and say that the OpenOrd algorithm worked amazingly well. After waiting hours and finally crashing with other layouts, OpenOrd finished in about 5 minutes! Thanks again for the tip

Re: Best Layout Algorithm for Massive Newtork
Thanks, I'll give that a try
I got the memory allocation up by increasing it for Java, which helped. It seems that Gephi isn't made to use multiple cores on the CPU though since I can't get it above 25% CPU usage on my quad-core

[SOLVED] Best Layout Algorithm for Massive Network
I have a network with ~100,000 nodes and ~1,600,000 edges. Clearly such a monstrosity is going to take some time, but after letting a force-atlas attempt run overnight I check it out this morning to find the program crashed. Is there a better algorithm to use for a gigantic network like this one? I ...

Beginner Question Re: Adding columns
So I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, but a good amount of time spent with the documentation/wiki has not helped thus far (Probably because the wiki page is based on 0.7 and many of the options are different in 0.8). I imported a network from a .net file (I have a lot of experience with Pa...
