I know this is on another thread but it is still an annoying problem:
I have installed v0.7 on several computers running Linux or Vista without problems.
However, on my own notebook, running win 7, it does not launch. It goes through the steps of installation but nothing happens when i try to open from the "start menu" or from C:\Program Files (x86)\Gephi-0.7\bin\gephidesktop.exe.
v0.6 runs fine (from exe file) on this computer but I would like to use the same version on all computers.

Any ideas?

Did you try running it in compatability mode for another OS?

I did try compatibility mode (XP SP2 as recommended by the "compatibility adviser") for both the installer and the application. It gave the same response: cursor changes shape for 10 sec or so but no window opens.

It runs normally on several Win7 computers I tried, maybe a problem with Java or with administrator rights ?

I will try to re install Java.
Administrator rights.... I install as an admin but not sure what specific rights are needed otherwise.
(problem still persists, obviously)

On the other hand, I did write a small bit of code in Matlab to interface with my Matlab function and produce GEXF files. It seems to work quite well (with v0.6 on this computer and 0.7 on onother). I will post it here and in MatlabCentral once it's ready for public consumption.

Ok, I suggest to wait for 0.7beta coming next week. The Platform launcher moves from Netbeans 6.8 to Netbeans 6.9, and I fixed some things also. That may fix this issue.
