Problem:
After opening Gephi and selecting the graph file (.gephi), the main window comes up with everything in the correct location and identical to the last time I saved the graph except for the middle graph pane (Overview). It shows whatever was on the display in that area. That is, if I open Gephi and there is an Excel spreadsheet displayed, the central pane displays that information.
I changed the conf file to increase Xms and Xmx as follows:
default_options="--branding gephi -J-Xms512m -J-Xmx11467m -J-Xverify:none -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -J-Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true -J-Dnetbeans.indexing.noFileRefresh=true -J-Dplugin.manager.check.interval=EVERY_DAY".
Another interesting phenomenon is that I can't close the program except through the task manager. I can minimize it and maximize it, but can't close it. And the program won't respond to a mouse click (except on the minimize button and maximize buttons and those same choices on the Gephi icon).
Finally, the shape of the cursor is an arrow in the center (graph) pane, but a selection hand on the left and the right.
