How to Group And Cluster the graph using Java Code

Hi Gephi Users,
i am new to this tool. i am trying to create my custom nodes and display the graph using PApplet inside the JFrame.
my nodes have a custom column whose value is a String.
right now all the nodes are randomly arranged.
i want the nodes to be laid such that all the nodes which have same value for the custom column are grouped together and shown closer to each other.
Please suggest on how this can be achieved.
